Hackers on the Hill is a semi-regular gathering for irregulars from the security research community to engage with Congressional staffers. Run by I Am The Cavalry, the program has been bridging the gap between the hacker and public policy communities since 2017, and we are excited to bring it back for the sixth time on January 19, 2023.
The event begins with briefings for the hackers on the policymaking process and current events. Afterwards, our Hacker Ambassadors lead small groups to brief House and Senate Congressional staffers on a variety of topics. The event concludes with a Happy Hour nearby where we encourage candid conversations.
Do you have what it takes to cyber all the cybers? Sign up below via our registration form by January 4 - space is extremely limited this year so we expect to have a waiting list for others to participate!
I Am The Cavalry is committed to keeping hackers and staffers safe during Hackers on the Hill. As with all planned in-person events held within the past couple of years, we are are taking prudent COVID precautions. Regardless of Capitol policies, we expect that all of the hackers in attendance will be fully vaccinated and boosted. However, we also recognize that others present in the Capitol that day may not take the same precautions. And we are monitoring COVID and hospitalization trends, as well as Capitol visitor requirements, and will provide more information closer to the event.
Harley Geiger from Venable published some helpful resources for the 2020 edition of Hackers on the Hill. These documents are still great resources and we encourage you to check them out ahead of the 2022 event, even if you won't be attending.
